Droning On – Bill O’Reilly

Posted by Larry Barnes on April 27, 2013

Droning On – Bill O'Reilly.

Leftards being creatures of habit with a limited scope of resources, I anticipate they will respond to Bill O’Reilly’s recent opinion piece with accusations about the “terror” bombing of Dresden. Well, here is my pre-response:

S.T.F.U. Evil has many tools and a lie is a handle that fits each one. You live in your world, with your tools and handles. You are a tool and you know where the handle goes, now stick it!

A 1953 United States Air Force report defended the operation as the justified bombing of a military and industrial target, which was a major rail transportation and communication center, housing 110 factories and

50,000 workers in support of the German war effort. Dresden was Germany’s seventh-largest city and, according to the RAF at the time, the largest remaining unbombed built-up area. An official 1942 guide to the city described it as “one of the foremost industrial locations of the Reich” and in 1944, the German Army High Command’s Weapons Office listed 127 medium-to-large factories and workshops that were supplying the army with materiel.

Colonel Harold E. Cook, a US POW held in the Friedrichstadt marshaling yard the night before the attacks, later said that “I saw with my own eyes that Dresden was an armed camp: thousands of German troops, tanks and artillery and miles of freight cars loaded with supplies supporting and transporting German logistics towards the east to meet the Russians.”

On 16 February, 1945, the German Propaganda Ministry issued a press release that stated that Dresden had no war industries; it was a city of culture. And now the leftards continue that tradition because they need to get a handle on their tolls of destruction and desolation.

Having been given a paraphrased version of Churchill’s memo by Bottomley, on 29 March, Air Chief Marshal Arthur Harris wrote to the Air Ministry: I … assume that the view under consideration is something like this: no doubt in the past we were justified in attacking German cities. But to do so was always repugnant and now that the Germans are beaten anyway we can properly abstain from proceeding with these attacks. This is a doctrine to which I could never subscribe. Attacks on cities like any other act of war are intolerable unless they are strategically justified. But they are strategically justified in so far as they tend to shorten the war and preserve the lives of Allied soldiers. To my mind we have absolutely no right to give them up unless it is certain that they will not have this effect. I do not personally regard the whole of the remaining cities of Germany as worth the bones of one British Grenadier.

The feeling, such as there is, over Dresden, could be easily explained by any psychiatrist. It is connected with German bands and Dresden shepherdesses. Actually Dresden was a mass of munitions works, an intact government center, and a key transportation point to the East. It is now none of these things.

Suspected Pirates Apprehended in the Gulf of Aden.

Posted by Larry Barnes on February 11, 2009

From Commander, U.S. Naval Forces Central Command/5th Fleet Public Affairs

The crew of the guided-missile cruiser USS Vella Gulf (CG 72) apprehended seven suspected pirates in the Gulf of Aden Feb. 11 after responding to a distress call from a nearby merchant vessel.

The event marks the first time CTF-151 has apprehended suspected pirates.

At approximately 3:00 p.m. this afternoon, the Marshall Islands-flagged Motor Vessel Polaris sent a distress call to all ships in the area reporting that a small skiff containing seven suspected pirates had attempted a forcible boarding of their vessel using a ladder. Polaris crewmembers removed the ladder before pirates could come aboard.

Plague Strikes Al-Qaeda

Posted by Larry Barnes on January 24, 2009

With the reported death of al-Qaeda terrorists in their Algerian training camp from the bubonic plague, the world takes a trip into the surreal. Four days since the story broke, and not a mention can be found in the Marxist, Stalinist Media (MSM). The alternative media has been treating the event with the deference, and some glee, that it deserves.

The possibility that group mistakenly released germ warfare agents upon themselves exists. Failure to confirm this as fact, or disprove it, will fall upon the Obama administration. The killer bug could be a natural occurrence, or a precursor to terror attacks. The Obama administration has not proven it is not willing to face the truth in the war on terror.

The impetus to assess whether our nation is prepared for a bio terrorist attack will fall upon our intelligence services. The democrats have demonstrated a pattern of ignoring the real world and avoiding actions that would degrade their polls.

The bio terrorism threat posed by al-Qaeda and it’s Algerian cohorts is credible and not a surprise for American experts. A declared intention to attack America should make these people prime targets for observation and elimination. al-Qaeda in the land of the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM), is the largest al-Qaeda group outside of the Middle East, and they have maintained a close relationship with active terrorist groups.

Somali Capital Bombing, 16 Dead

Posted by Larry Barnes on January 24, 2009

With no group has claiming responsibility for the attack in Mogadishu, Somalia’s Capital the aftermath of of the bombing will leave no one for politicians to negotiate with.

The dead included a policeman and 15 civilians when a bomb detonated at a police checkpoint manned by the African Union peacekeeping mission.

A spokesman, Mohamed Osman Ali described the attack as a “massacre”. Islamist terrorists control the majority of the city, as they have from the withdrawal of US forces after the “Black Hawk Down” incident.

The Somali parliament is due to choose his replacement on Monday at a meeting in neighboring Djibouti. A lack of competent forces in the region has caused a security vacuum in the country.
Mr Ali said a policeman manning the checkpoint on the Makka al-Mukarama road in Mogadishu had fired at the car when it approached at high speed. But their is not security force hunting terrorists in an effective manner.

The target of the attack is not known, but the African Union Peacekeeping Mission in Somalia (Amisom) post about 200 yards away was a possibility.

An Amisom spokesman, Maj Barigye Ba-hoku, appeared to blame the Islamist rebel group, al-Shabaab, which is attempting to topple the government. “That the opposition group had massacred only innocent Somali people,” was most distressing for him.

No casualties were reported in the fighting that broke between Amisom troops and those of the government, after the explosion.

Officials in Somalia’s government recently warned of a security vacuum caused by the withdrawal of Ethiopian troops this month. Continuing it’s policy of political cowardice the US wants the United Nations to take over peacekeeping duties.

But last month UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon said few countries were willing to send troops, as there was no peace to keep.

Somalia has not had an effective national government from 1991, since when various militias have been battling for control. The mass starvation of the civil population and murderous terrorist has not motivated people to look beyond their own self interest. With eighteen Americans killed in the 1990’s excursion in Somalia and the democrats aversion to bad publicity, innocent people will continue to die with no “hope” for a future.
